Owner and Chef, Daniel Vater, has worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. From 1999 until 2007, Daniel served as the executive chef of the Hearst Corporation Executive Dining and the Good Housekeeping Institute. In 2008, Chef Vater founded Daniel Vater Fine Catering, and over the last ten years, he has created a successful business serving the New York City greater area.
Daniel's market menus are hand-crafted to spotlight the flavors of the season, pairing fresh organic ingredients with classic simplicity and fastidious attention to detail. Daniel’s dishes begin with the fundamentals of classic continental cuisine, and are infused with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Asian influences.
Daniel returned to school in 2017 to pursue a degree in Food and Beverage Management, and Global Business Management. He plans to graduate from the City University of New York Baccalaureate Program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies in the spring of 2019. Daniel is the recipient of The James Beard Foundation Mildred Amico Scholarship award, the Thomas W. Smith Academic Fellowship, and The Hospitality Industry Network Scholarship. Daniel maintains a 4.0 GPA, he is on the Dean’s Academic List, and a member of the Honor’s Society.
