DANIEL VATER
Daniel Vater has been a rising talent in the hospitality industry for over twenty years. From 1999 until 2007, Daniel served as the executive chef of Hearst Publications and Good Housekeeping magazine, where he oversaw events for Hearst magazine titles including The Oprah Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.
In 2007, he launched Daniel Vater Fine Catering. At the helm for the last 12 years, Daniel has coordinated and executed over 600 events. He is an expert event designer and producer. In addition to his business acumen - Daniel is unique among chefs: exceptionally talented at preparing savory cuisine, pastries and confections and last but not least - he is a master bread baker.
Daniel's market menus are hand-crafted to spotlight the flavors of the season, pairing fresh organic ingredients with classic simplicity and fastidious attention to detail. Daniel’s dishes begin with the fundamentals of classic continental cuisine, and are infused with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Asian influences.
Whether catering a casual private gathering, a sophisticated corporate event, or a festive summer picnic, Daniel believes that the key to the perfect party is in the fusion of exquisite flavor and refined design.
Presently, he is a candidate for a Masters of Management in Hospitality degree at Cornell University, SC Johnson School of Business where he will complete his studies in the fall of 2020.
Daniel is proud to be the recipient of The James Beard Foundation Mildred Amico Scholarship, The Hospitality Industry Network New York Chapter Scholarship, Thomas W. Smith Academic Fellowship, Cornell School of Hotel Administration Masters of Management in Hospitality (MMH) Scholarship and the NEWH Hospitality Industry Network Fabric Innovations Legacy Scholarship.
